Is it time to get out of your comfort zone? Whether that’s trying a new technique or working with strangers, it can give your photography a new lease on life – even if it seems a little daunting at first. In this episode, Brisbane-based photographer Kerri Setch discusses how she went beyond her comfort zone. Kerri used to find the idea of approaching strangers for photos daunting. She discusses how she overcame this fear and thrived. Kerri covers: the importance of living in the moment and lessons dragonflies can teach us, why invest the extra time and effort in 1%ers and how clients react, how she used photography as therapy to overcome chronic fatigue, the moment she made the leap from day job to full time photographer, transitioning from daylight to flash, working with strangers as an introvert, and heaps more!

Kerri Setch Bio
I’m a professional photographer specialising in Headshot, Business, Travel and Lifestyle photography. With Brisbane as my hometown and base, I am easily able to serve you, the corporate, small business, and not-for-profit sectors in southeast Queensland as well as further afield. I am fascinated by lifestyle and culture which has led me to some amazing places, meet many fantastic people and win some awards along the way.
My approach is to create an environment where you will feel comfortable and relaxed to ease any tension about being in front of the camera. This results in you presenting as connected, engaged, and relaxed with a sense of professionalism.
I have photographed individuals, small business, medical specialists, Not-For-Profit Organisations and NGOs in Australia and Asia. My photos having been published in organisational and industry publications, annual reports, marketing campaigns, websites, online social media platforms. They also hang on the walls of people’s homes and offices across Australia.
What brings me joy and fulfilment, is the opportunity of being a storyteller and creating your photo experience where you and/or your business will be elevated with captivating photos and visual content. Through listening I serve you, and your team with understanding and empathy to create photos that make you the hero and expert. I work one-to-one with you, to capture your character and essence in individual portraits and visual content.
Whether your story is one of corporate, arts, social, service, small business, professional, sport, government, military, charity, or personal, your portrait and content will be your truest you for your business needs.
I also specialise in senior citizens and ageing parents to create lasting family memories. These beautiful nostalgic photos are printed in a variety of mediums ready for you to hang on your wall or to give as a gift. These photos bring much pleasure and stir the heartfelt memories of those close to us.
If you have a story to tell via your online presence, publications, family albums or marketing needs, I can work with you in achieving this goal. The images I create, in collaboration with you, will bring volume to your voice and be a part of working towards generating greater engagement.
As a location independent photographer, I travel to you, an outdoor location or place of business. With my interest in lifestyle and culture with a global mindset, I am not limited to photographing only in my hometown of Brisbane.
