Ep 145: Snapshot: How to blog as a photographer

As photographers, it can be easy to think that your pictures should speak for themselves. Well, that’s only true some of the time. If you want to use blogging to attract more clients, then you need an effective blogging strategy.

In this episode, Gina and Valerie discuss what the purpose of your blog is and the essential steps that you need to take in order to blog effectively. They outline why the text you include is sometimes just as important as the images.

Depends on the purpose of your blog:

  • To get more work as in a niche
  • To sell products like gear or courses or live workshops
  • To cater to a particular demographic
  • To chronicle your journey of development

This will also depend on what stage you are at in your photographic journey.

  • Weddings
  • Babies
  • Architecture
  • Portraits and lifestyle
  • Gear

Stories are so important.

I’m a big fan of long captions for photographers.
